A New Year For Fundraising
The Pirates have set sail for another great year on the water. The costs associated with keeping the Dragon Boat Team afloat can be astronomical. To help offset these costs, The Pirates have setup 3 fundraising events for the 2007 year.

The first event is the Spring Roundup and Chili cook off on February 17th 2007. Everyone is invited to what will surely be a great time had by all. There will be Chili and dancing and door prizes. So, get your favorite chili recipe, an empty tummy and be prepared to have fun. Doors open at 6:00pm.

The second of the three fundraiser's is the second annual St. Patrick's Day Fundraiser at Dukes Pub in Yarrow. Last year people had so much fun we almost made it a two day event. Expect more prizes, more food, more drinking and of course, alot more fun. Tickets will go on sale in March.

The third and final fundraiser for the 2007 year will be a salute to the great people of Mexico. May 5th is Cinco De Mayo day. May 5th commemorates the victory of Mexico over the French in the Battle of Puebla in 1862. Working in conjunction with Friendly Mikes pub, The Pirates hope to bring the flavor of Mexico to the last Pub Night of the year. Check back for more details.

The Pirates Dragon Boat Team is currently fundraising to help with team startup costs. These costs include T-shirts, Banners, and a Team tent. Fundraising helps offsets the huge costs associated in running a Dragon Boat Team. Regatta Fees, Paddles, and merchandise are just some of the costs that are accrued when running a team. In the past The Pirates have been blessed with some very generous sponsors. These sponsors have donated everything from money to products and gift certificates to help our cause. No gift is too large, and no gift is too small. For their sponsorship, The Pirates have dedicated a large part of the web site this year to honour them. We do encourage all Dragon Boat members to support these sponsors as much as possible.

We do not just rely on sponsors alone. During the season The Pirates will host Pub Nights, BBQ's and Garage Sales. These events are always well attended. Please check back for days and times.

The Pirates Dragon Boat Team is also on the lookout for Corporate Sponsorship. Corporate Sponsorship would entitle corporate logos on all Pirates Merchandise. This includes but is not limited to
1) Shirts.
2) Paddles.
3) Team Tent.
4) Web site.
